The bedroom- It is a place, where after going through the ordeals of a busy day, you can relax, unwind and recharge your batteries. Is that something you are really able to do in your bedrom? Or is your bedroom a mess of strewn clothes, boring furniture and drab decor?
If it is don’t worry the reason behind this is quite simple. Of all the places in your home, your bedroom gets the least attention, because it is a place where only you or your family spend time in – and for most of that time, you’re asleep.
Your bedroom should be inviting, organised and look great – which will help you unwind and relax better.
If you are looking to make a change in the decor of your bedroom, and don’t have the budget to do so, here are a few budget friendly interior design ideas for your bedroom.
Repaint the room
When I first walked into the house I now live in, I hated the color of the bedroom wall. It was painted solid red,, which was an instant turn off for me. The first thing I did to change the look and feel of the place, was to paint it light blue, which gave a calming and a serene feel to the bedroom.
Getting a repaint for your bedroom is something that will instantly change the look and feel of your bedroom and can be done on a lower budget as well.
Before choosing a color, see which colors make you feel great, and then go ahead. Depending on the mood and tone you are looking to set for your bedroom, a particular color could work out for you. Remember that you can paint the mouldings as well as the ceiling (they don’t have to stay white), for a more customised look.
Find great art for the walls
Hanging art on your walls is a great way to modernise the look and feel of your bedroom. Buying a Picasso or a Rembrandt painting might not fit your budget, but there are many low cost options that will add character to your bedroom.
Purchasing low cost art from websites is one such option. Another cool option would be to get a blank canvas, and paint on it yourself. It is a great way to add your own personal touch to your bedroom wall.
Find creative accessories
You can get great accessories which complement the overall look and feel of your bedroom. A simple accessory like a flower vase, filled with flowers, can add a lot of character and feeling to your room.
This does not mean that you have to buy the same type of flower vase that over 40 million people buy at stores. You can get creative with this. My friend collects soda cans, and used them to make a cool looking flower vase to hold fresh flowers, and placed them in his bedroom.
The sky is the limit when it comes to finding creative accessories to spice up the look and feel of your bedroom.
